Generally you need to hand your luggage over to be screened for security reasons. You are REQUIRED to have valid ID to board the ship, no refunds are given to people who fail to present proper ID. Travel documentation that are required to board below a guild line ONLY, You MUST check with your cruise line to ensure you will have all proper ID.
International
International Cruises are (but are not limited to) cruises to Asia, Caribbean, Europe, Fiji, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Tahiti and Vanuatu. Australian citizens travelling on international cruises are required to have valid passports.

Disembarkation
Immigration and Customs Clearance
For your convince and to ensure a smooth disembarkation, passengers are usually allowed too leave in staggered groups. Customs and Immigration inspectors will review with you the Customs declarations form which you have listed all the articles bought in foreign ports or in the ship’s boutiques.
Duty Free
General goods include gifts, souvenirs, cameras, electronic equipment, leather goods, perfume concentrates, jewellery, watches and sporting equipment.
If you are aged 18 years or over, you can bring up to A$900 worth of general goods into Australia duty-free.
If you are under 18 years of age there is a A$450 limit.
Tobacco
If you are aged 18 years or over you can bring 50 cigarettes or 50 grams of cigars or tobacco products duty-free into Australia with you. All tobacco products in accompanied baggage are included in this category, regardless of how or where they were purchased.
Alcoholic Beverages
If you are aged 18 years or over, you can bring 2.25 litres of alcoholic beverages duty-free into Australia with you. All alcoholic beverages in accompanied baggage are included in this category, regardless of where or how they were purchased.
